Who’s in charge of this crazy thing, anyway?

Laura Lintz hails from Rochester, New York, and is a lifelong Buffalo Bills fan and Buffalo Wing lover.  After graduating from Gettysburg College in 2001, Laura moved to Boston and volunteered as an Americorps VISTA with ReadBoston.  Since then, Laura has worked in several Boston-based non-profits.  Laura now works at Simmons College.  She is also obtaining her Masters degree in Library Science from Simmons.

Laura was diagnosed with Type One (Juvenile) Diabetes at the age of 25.  Since her diagnosis, Laura has become an avid runner, completing four half marathons and the freakin’ Boston Marathon in the past two years.  At times, diabetes has been a struggle, but running has provided a positive outlet for the stress created by this chronic disease.

The Red Menace, aka Nandi, hails from just outside of Boston.  In high school she was known primarily for her aversion to anything physical, and for being an extreme geek, especially in the realm of vocabulary and grammar.  Now a real, honest-to-god adult, she discovered running four years ago through her good friend Laura, and hasn’t looked back since.  She has completed three half-marathons and the freakin’ Boston Marathon!  A true lover of food, she also blogs over at http://theredmenaceeats.wordpress.com all about the crazy things she is willing to eat.  She remains an extreme geek and lover of the properly placed semicolon.
